NeuroSync Pro does not need a high-end workstation, but it does need a stable computer. The software combines audio playback, rhythmic pulse generation, session timing and, in the Audio+Light edition, network-based DMX control. For a smooth experience, stability matters more than raw computing power.
The requirements below are intended for reliable everyday use. A faster computer will not automatically make a session more effective, but an overloaded, overheating or sleeping computer can interrupt timing, audio or light output.
Quick overview
| Edition | Minimum | Recommended for regular use | Extra hardware |
|---|---|---|---|
| Personal | Modern macOS computer, 4 GB RAM, working audio output | Apple Silicon Mac or recent Intel Mac, 8 GB RAM, headphones | Headphones or speakers |
| Therapeutic Audio | Modern macOS computer, 4 GB RAM, stable audio output | Apple Silicon Mac or recent Intel Mac, 8 GB RAM, enough storage for the music library | Good headphones or external speakers |
| Therapeutic Audio+Light | Modern macOS computer, 8 GB RAM, stable network connection | Apple Silicon Mac, 8-16 GB RAM, wired Ethernet for Art-Net/DMX | Art-Net-to-DMX controller, DMX cable, compatible RGB-W fixture |
Operating system
The current NeuroSync Pro builds are intended for macOS. Use a supported, up-to-date macOS version and avoid running sessions on a system that is no longer receiving security or compatibility updates. If a Windows installer is supplied for your edition, use a maintained Windows 10 or Windows 11 system.
For best stability, install operating system updates outside session time and restart the computer before important professional use. Do not start a client session while the computer is still indexing, updating or restoring files in the background.
Processor and memory
NeuroSync Pro is not extremely CPU-heavy. The Personal and Therapeutic Audio editions usually run comfortably on a modern Mac. The Audio+Light edition adds visual control, Art-Net output and more live state updates, so it benefits from a little more headroom.
- Minimum: a modern dual-core computer with 4 GB RAM for Personal or Audio, and 8 GB RAM for Audio+Light.
- Recommended: Apple Silicon or a recent Intel Mac with 8 GB RAM or more.
- Professional use: prefer 8-16 GB RAM, net power and no heavy background applications.
Storage
The application itself is relatively small. The music library can take substantially more space, depending on the package supplied with your licence. Keep the library on internal storage or a reliable external drive that remains connected during the session.
- Keep at least several gigabytes free for the music library, exports and future updates.
- Avoid storing the active music library in a cloud-only folder that may download files on demand.
- Do not move the music folder while NeuroSync Pro is running.
Audio requirements
All editions need a reliable audio output. Headphones are recommended for binaural, monaural and isochronic listening because they give a more controlled experience and reduce room interference.
- Use comfortable headphones or stable external speakers.
- Set the system volume before starting a session.
- Avoid Bluetooth audio for professional use when timing consistency matters; wired audio is usually more predictable.
- Close other apps that may take over audio output or change the sample rate during a session.
Additional requirements for Audio+Light
The Audio+Light edition has the highest practical requirements because it controls external lighting. The computer does not need to be powerful, but the network and DMX chain must be stable.
| Component | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Network | Prefer wired Ethernet for Art-Net. If the Mac has no Ethernet port, use a reliable USB-C Ethernet adapter. |
| Controller | Compatible Art-Net-to-DMX controller in output/node mode. |
| Fixture | Compatible RGB-W DMX fixture or light bar in the correct DMX channel mode. |
| DMX cabling | Proper DMX cable from controller output to fixture input; termination may be needed in longer chains. |
| Power | Stable power for computer, controller and fixture. Use net power for longer sessions. |
Wi-Fi can work for some network tasks, but it is not the preferred choice for professional Art-Net/DMX use. A short wired network path is more predictable and easier to troubleshoot.
Recommended working setup
- Use net power instead of battery for important sessions.
- Disable sleep mode, automatic display sleep and aggressive energy-saving settings during sessions.
- Close video editing, DAW projects, games, screen recording, large browser sessions and other heavy software.
- Test the selected audio device and, for Audio+Light, the light fixture before the session begins.
- Keep the computer in a ventilated place so it does not throttle or overheat.
Edition differences in practice
Personal has the lightest requirements. It mainly needs stable audio, enough storage for the app and sessions, and a comfortable listening setup.
Therapeutic Audio adds more professional audio control and music-library use. It benefits from more memory and more storage, especially if you keep a larger library available locally.
Therapeutic Audio+Light adds the external light chain. The main difference is not CPU load but reliability: Art-Net, DMX addressing, fixture mode, network stability and light safety all matter.
Safety and comfort
For any edition, use conservative volume levels at first. For Audio+Light, also begin with low light intensity and increase only when comfortable. Rhythmic light stimulation should not be used with people who have photosensitive epilepsy, seizure disorders or unexplained loss of consciousness unless cleared by an appropriate medical professional.
NeuroSync Pro is not a medical device. The software is designed for structured audio, light and session experiences, but it does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent medical or psychiatric disorders.
Bottom line
For Personal and Therapeutic Audio, a modern Mac with reliable audio is usually sufficient. For Audio+Light, choose a stable Mac, wired network, proper Art-Net/DMX hardware and a tested lighting setup. In professional contexts, reliability and preparation matter more than buying the most powerful computer.
